Exchange District La Poutine Week Guide

February 1-14

La Poutine Week is taking note from its sister event (Le Burger Week) and extending the festival of food into a two-week affair. This year’s Exchange District lineup favours classic comfort foods, a welcome remedy to the blizzardy weather that’s been rolling through Winnipeg the past few weeks. You have until Monday, February 14th to try the neighbourhood’s poutine entries, which feature flavours of French onion soup, Beef Bourguignon and even coffee. Don’t forget to bring your skates while you’re out here restaurant hopping—it’s a perfect opportunity to enjoy #winterintheexchange! Burn off all those pommes frites with a zip around the community rink at Old Market Square and a stroll through Stephen Juba Park.

Carnaval Brazilian BBQ

The Cassava Poutine Embrace

Our poutine is an embrace of our two cultures. We have mixed traditional French fries with crispy fried cassava as our base, added both pork and sirloin fresh from our open charcoal Brazilian BBQ and topped with a creamy garlic and cheese sauce. The added touches include a red wine drizzle, grilled pineapple and our fresh tomato, onion and pepper vinaigrette to ensure a taste of sweetness. Our truly unique combination is for meat lovers, cheese lovers, wine lovers and of course poutine lovers!
