Roald Dahl’s classic isn’t just a great kids novel or a kooky film adaptation by Danny Devito, it’s a hilarious musical about a telekinetic bookworm who puts what’s right first! Starring some of Winnipeg’s best young musical theatre talent, this is a show not to be missed.

The Last Movie @ Cinematheque (304-100 Arthur Street)

Move over Easy Rider, Dennis Hopper’s meditation on celebrity and life as we know it is closing out its limited run at Cinematheque.

Tuesday Trivia Night @ Wee Johnny’s (177 McDermot Ave) 

8pm 

Quizmaster Jeff Sinclair, known for his famous trivia night in South Korea, hosts this weekly battle of wits. Bring your friends or come alone and they’ll put you with a team. Either way, all of that pop culture and world trivia will finally be put to good use (see, Mom?).

Four years before Frank Sinatra was Danny Ocean, Melville directed this tale of an aging gambler who assembles a team to knock over a casino.

Dance Floor Army @ The Palomino Club (436 Main Street)

Winnipeg’s favourite dance party band delivers all the hits and none of the misses to make your night go from good to good gosh darn great.

Dynamic Winnipeg vocalist Holly Davidson fronts her band of mighty musicians with all the hits of yesterday and today.

The School of Contemporary Dancers Composition Showings @ The Rachel Browne Theatre (211 Bannatyne Ave)

This is your chance to catch performances of student choreographic works by members of the Professional Program composition course – basically, a chance to see ’em dance before they’re famous.
