Historically, jazz and drag are both art forms that center marginalized performers and experiences at their forefront. Jazz and drag are rooted in artistic traditions dating back more than one hundred years. And both jazz and drag celebrate liberation, creativity, protest, and self-expression. Jazz Winnipeg is thrilled to present this first-of-its-kind event celebrating jazz history and the great art form of drag with Jazz Meets Drag featuring Moxie Cotton and appearances from Her Majesty, Dirt, Soleil Midowne, Hari Vijaijay, and Lady Quinnzarr. Discover some of Winnipeg’s best drag performers as they celebrate the jazz tradition with performances of classic numbers. For one night only during the TD Winnipeg International Jazz Festival, Winnipeg’s best queens and kings will razzle-dazzle you with all that jazz!
