Doors Open Winnipeg – Free Historic Walking Tours

May 28, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm Posted in: Tour

Walk the cobblestone streets and experience the colourful history of the Exchange District. Explore Winnipeg’s riveting political history – from its leadership in the anti-fascism movement, to Cora Hind the first female journalist in Western Canada. Uncover the scandals of Winnipeg’s history, from our first Mayors 2nd life to the ill fated “Gingerbread” City Hall. This 1.5 hour long walking tour of the Exchange will cover the most thrilling details of Winnipeg’s lurid past, and show you a side of the city you’ve never seen before.

Please note the tour is wheelchair accessible but sidewalks may be in poor condition and challenging to navigate.

Guided tours will start at 10:00am, 1:00pm and 3:00pm departing from and finishing at Bijou Park in Old Market Square. Tours will be approximately 90 minutes in length with a maximum of 20 guests.

Online registration is required for all guests! Registration will open Friday, May 20th at noon. A link will be made available here just prior to registration opening.
