Performance begins at 7 pm in the alley lot behind Pantages Theatre.
Night Pour is musician Karl Manchur from Winnipeg Manitoba. A left turn departure from previous musical avenues; Night Pour was crafted out of coming to terms with and reflecting on past traumatic events, career changes, sobriety, the state of the world and coming home from a long ambitious backpacking trip just mere days before the pandemic shut everything down. He decided that if he couldn’t play/make music with friends he’d take the opportunity to experiment with sounds and ideas on his own terms. Stockpiling various gear to create a small home studio, he began to compose noisy, lo-fi, ambient, cinematic, drone, emotional and honest improvised but interconnected pieces. This trial and error process led to creating what matters most to him which are the stories told through these pieces born out of accumulated years of frustration, reflection, starts/stops, and acceptance of letting things go to move forward in this weird world.
Alleyways Sounds is part of Alleyways in the Exchange, a monthly summer event that explores different alleys in the Exchange District though audio performances, a makers’ market and art lounge.
