French Conversation Meetup @ Forth (171 McDermot Ave)

The Alliance Française du Manitoba invites you to a relaxed French conversation meetup. Come have a drink and practice your French among francophones and francophiles in the heart of the Exchange District. All levels of French are welcome!

Whether you’re on the hunt for the next great piece to display at home, are looking for a gallery space of your own, or just want to hobnob with the arts community, First Fridays in the Exchange is a great way to get out, visit some shops and galleries, and experience everything the Exchange has to offer!

Party Dress Pop Up Shop @ Gowns for Grads (35A Albert Street)

April 6, 10am-3pm

Whether you’re a grad or are just looking for your next great party dress, this pop up has short style party dresses and cocktail dresses for only $20 – and all proceeds will be used to purchase plus-size dresses. A good dress for a good cause!

Moonlit Kitchen Fermented Foods Workshop @ Generation Green (100-433 Main St)

April 6, 1-3pm

Come learn the basics of making lacto-fermented veggies at this hands-on workshop. Kristin from Moonlit Kitchen will show you how to make kraut style and brined vegetables in addition to explaining the importance of adding these into your diet. Participants will go home with two jars of ferments to enjoy! Seating is limited so be sure to register early!

Grant Writing Hangout @ Forth (171 McDermot Ave)

April 7, 12-4pm

After a successful inaugural event, the Winnipeg Music Project’s Grant Writing Hangout will be a monthly get-together. The Winnipeg Music Project podcast/radio show has teamed up with Forth to create a space for local artists and music teams to finish (and receive peer-reviews on) their grant applications. This event is optional and free to all interested. Come to Forth any time from 12-4pm for a space dedicated for grant writing, away from home and other distractions, with friends who want to support you and help you thrive! The event is not limited to grant applications, you can also use this time to focus on other musical tasks such as (but not limited to) website updating, bio writing, homework, or completing reports.
