As a volunteer, you show support to our arts and culture scene, meet new friends with the same interests, and become part of the biggest contemporary arts and culture celebration in Manitoba.
Information Ambassadors will be our official festival liaisons and the first point of contact between attendees and the festivities. You are the go-to source about everything Culture Days and/or Nuit Blanche and provide program guides and maps to any who needs a bit of a hand.
Art Supervisors help navigate attendees around the art, encourage participation (and smiles) at each installation and keep the art installation safe throughout Nuit Blanche.
Venue and Artist Assistance team up with organizations, venues and artists and provide assitance with whatever the venues need during Culture Days and/or Nuit Blanche. Consider yourself the Jack-or-Jill-of-all-trades for this role.
Set Up/ Tear Down help artists, organizations or venues prior or post Culture Days and/or Nuit Blanche. If you like the behind-the-scenes fun and can lift up to 50lbs, you’re the person for the job.
Green Team help us maintain the beauty of The Exchange, Downtown Winnipeg and St. Boniface prior, during and post Culture Days and/ or Nuit Blanche.
Event Safety works with a partner or group to provide an extra set of eyes and ears in our core areas! This means reuniting children with parents, providing safeways if requested and navigating attendees in the direction of the art action. (You do NOT get involved in dangerous/unsafe situations, you would communicate any incident or problems to security, patrol or 911.)
Volunteer Registration keeps the show going by signing volunteers in and out of shifts and providing information or guidence to attendees who might stop and wonder if you’re an art installation.
Runners/ Volunteer Captains jump from venue to venue making sure volunteers and venues have what they need, make sure everyone is having a great time and on occasion distribute programs and materials. It’s great to be mobile and have access to a bike, vehicle or skateboard during this time.
Volunteer Photographers for Culture Days Manitoba and Nuit Blanche Winnipeg help us capture the moments and experiences of our artists, organizers, volunteers and attendees. Your photos may be highlighted on our website, social media and printed materials – with photo credits of course! It is a wonderful opportunity to grow your portfolio and have your photos seen at a national level.
