February 2 - February 4
From February 2-4, Forth Cafe and Bar (171 McDermot Avenue) will be transformed into an international festival of experimental music, art, technology and performance for the second annual Forthwith Festival. The weekend-long festival will infuse Winnipeg’s downtown with almost two dozen international artists, such as Nick Klein.
Coming hot on the heels of Big Fun Festival and the WSO’s New Music Festival, the Forthwith Festival will be doing its part to keep the mid-winter doldrums at bay. Artists will be traveling in from around the world to perform over the three event alongside a fantastic host of Winnipeg locals.
Forthwith Festival will engage and challenge attendees, inspiring interaction, improvisation, and creativity with over 28 viscerally stimulating performances and installations. Forthwith Festival’s opening night kicks off alongside First Friday’s in the Exchange and is the destination of choice for art and music lovers.
Forthwith’s evening programming will turn the lights down and the party up with collaborative, experimental DJ/sound/projections…and cocktails! Forth will be activating food and drink as an integral part of the festival.
Forthwith Festival will be offering the following workshops: Experimental Turntable, Making a Video Synthesizer, and Making Instruments from Electronic Waste.
FEB 2: 6 pm – 3 am
FEB 3: 12pm – 3 am
FEB 4: 12pm – 10pm
