In celebration of Black History Month, Black Space Winnipeg and the Winnipeg Film Group is proud to present the 3rd Annual Afro Prairie Film Festival from February 19-23, 2020.

The Afro Prairie Film Festival (APFF) celebrates Black cinema across North America and promotes the work of established and emerging Black filmmakers in Canada. This four-day festival is filled with programming and education that explores Black narratives on screen and behind the scenes. 14 films and 7 short films will be screened throughout the festival and will include romantic comedies, drama, and everything in between.

Open to all genders and allies, participants will have a chance to network with industry leaders and visiting filmmakers Alison Duke of Oya Media Group and award-winning actress, founder of ReelWorld Film Festival Tonya Williams, and Winnipeg’s own industry luminary Joy Loewen, CEO of the National Screen Institute.
