No place in the Exchange District sees more excitement than Old Market Square. The square provides a beautiful oasis in the middle of downtown Winnipeg for visitors and people who work in the area. The summer sees numerous events in the square that bring life and energy into the area all season long.

A charming backdrop to both Jazz Winnipeg and the Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festivals, the square features free stages and is the hub of activity for both events. The Exchange District BIZ is a proud sponsor of these important cultural events.

The square is also host to the Music in the Market Concert Series, the Farmers’ Market, the starting point for our Historical Walking Tours, as well as several other events.
