Old Market Square

No place in the Exchange District sees more excitement than Old Market Square. The square provides a beautiful oasis in the middle of downtown Winnipeg for visitors and people who work in the area. The summer sees numerous events in the square that bring life and energy into the area all season long.

A charming backdrop to Jazz Winnipeg and the Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival events, the square features free stages and is the hub of activity for both events. The Exchange District BIZ is a proud sponsor of these important cultural events.

Every year, Old Market Square is teeming with happy children on Canada Day. Hundreds of families flow through the square on July 1, enjoying sugary treats, inflatable games and free children’s musical entertainment.

The square is also host to Bedford Investments Music in the Market Concert Series, the Farmers’ Market, the starting point for Guided Walking Tours, as well as several other events throughout the season.
